These are my conversions for the army so far. A moment of stupidity with the modeling knife has put a temporary stand still on them as I can't quite get the fine motor skill needed band-aids on. I am really looking forward to seeing what happens with them at Onyx's end!!!! I got slightly confused as I only had made rough notes and what characters to do and with tactical command down don't know what was meant to happen with obliterators. 1 Warmaster - check 5 Warlords - check 7 Icon Bearers - check 7 Sorcerers - 5 done 15 Champions - 5 done 12 characters to go as soon as fingers heal up. ? obliterators, 3 attempts made - waiting on feedback. Do do I make 60 combining a robot and terminator into each one? I was thinking at first there was just an obliterator available to convert each one then I realized there is a heap of terminators in the bags. Just want to check what they are meant to be used for before I start hacking a heap up and combining them.

Mark,
The characters look great so far. Yes the terminators are there to be used in conjunction with the robots to create Obliterators. There used to be an article on them somewhere on the net. I think it was Audrey who did them up the forst time, but I cant remember where that is. I will have a look and send you the link or post it here.
Cheers Aaron

Yup, just found Audreys article. I haven't seen them done that way before. oubliette.tranquility-base.us/obliterator/index.htmAll mine I just done like this which is how I started doing yours: I had a shot at converting the ones I had started on to Audreys style. Potentially. I'd be much more interested in a deal that gives me a heap of bits to make my own characters and oblits than in doing more for cash though. Looking for terminators, old school plastic sentinels, chaos characters, got the robots already.

Right, I've finished the last tray of this box so here they are before it all gets packed away and posted on Monday. And here's a few details from the last batch. Right... Onto the next box (full of planes, LandRaiders, Predators, Terminators etc)

They are looking great, I especially like the black and yellow striping. Very 80's Heavy metal hair band Stryper style!

Onyx, what are the washes you paint over your minis again? I can't seem to find your old post about it.

I've used Woodland Scenics pigments in the past but this army is actually washed with; Jo Sonja's Artists' Colours Carbon Black (about $4 from Bunnings)
Acrylic paint thats quite thick. I dilute it and add a drop of dishwashing liquid to get it to flow just right.

Mark.
What are you doing for a commander? I've just started redoing my Chaos and I'm been using your stuff for ideas.

The commander is circled in black. I wanted to use a bunch of old sentinels to have him as some part man part machine mad crab beast thing but CAL wanted him to be standard infantry sized. Its hard to see in the photo but I gave him a bionic leg. I chopped his leg off and then drilled through the base to put a pin in and made a foot and upper leg out of greenstuff. I have finished all these characters now ready to send back to CAL for basing etc before he sends them back west to Onyx for painting. This is all the infantry conversions. It was an effort of blood sweat and beers to get them done . I'll have to remember to decontaminate them before I send them off I warn for great care when doing 6mm conversions. Cutting away from yourself isn't that easy in this scale. Another note is that putting a band aid on to protect your finger in case you slip is a retarded idea. Band aids do not stop scalpels. Definitely worth the effort, was awesome fun. I am just rearing to get some more chaos stuff so I can convert my own characters and obliterators in the same way.

Mark.
I ended up using a robot fig for the body, I wanted the commander to be a bit bigger than his chosen off-siders. Added a bolt pistol and axe from the SM tech and made a cape out of greenstuff.
Will post pick of army when finished, cheers for the insperation.
