So horse and myself started playtesting my map-based campaign rules two weekends back. In the first weekend, we played the first three campaign turns (Weeks 1 to 3), and Week 3 required resolution of two Epic battles. We played the first Epic battle that weekend, and the second battle the weekend just gone. (You can read about the campaign and the first game on Bell of Lost Souls ( www.belloflostsouls.net/2009/04/epic-quintairn-conflict.html), if you're interested in blow-by-blow details). The first two campaign turns saw both armies position themselves and set up defenses. In Week 3, however, we both threw down, each attacking different territories, and the campaign was on in earnest. The first game was 4,800 points of Eldar vs 4,000 points of Ultramarines, with the Ultramarines defending a heavily fortified position. It was a tight game and the Eldar came very close to booting the Ultramarines out of the territory, but the stalwart marines held the line and took the honours at the end of the day. The second game was 4,400 points of Ultramarines attacking 4,000 points of Eldar holding a heavily fortified position. This sort of battle is, of course, the marine's forte, and the Ultramarines managed a convincing victory over the Eldar...but this was largely (or, if I'm being honest, ONLY) thanks to a single large dose of LUCK where the Marines won the very first Strategy roll. (It was a huge gamble--if this roll had been lost, the battle result would have been very, very different.)

Not worth recording the points from these campaign games as the setups are non-tournament (lop-sided points, different deployment limitations, availability of defensive works, and different objective marker placement rules).

Dude...you need to contact fattdex and thefloppy1 on WargamerAU.com. Just peruse the Epic forums and you'll find posts by those guys. They're your connection. I now live in Sydney or I'd organise a game with you myself.
