Now that we have moved to a new house where we have a lockable granny flat to leave games set up over multiple days away from the kids its time for some bigger games. We decided on 5900 pts as thats how many points of painted Eldar Kim has so far and I have that much Khorne done meaning we could play a battle with two completely painted armies on fully painted terrain. Decided not to fully bother with legal lists so Kim has taken a single revenant because its buddy isn't painted yet.
Eldar Force
Warlock Titan
Revenant Titan
Phenix bombers
Fire Prisms
Night Spinners
Night Spinners
Flacons
2 tooled up guardian warhosts
Avatar
Warpgate
5 Aspect Hosts (SS, WS, DR, HB, SH)
3 Jetbike hosts (2 with 2 Vipers and 1 with 6)
and probably a couple of things I have forgotten
Chaos Host
3x Chaos Space marines, 1 with cult marines and rhinos and the others with 3 dreads and an obliterator each
Chosen with an obliterator
3x8 CSM Bikers
2x4 CSM Land Raiders
Death Wheal
Feral Titan
Bane Lord Titan
Fighters
Bombers
I think thats about it apart from a pool of daemons.
The first turn started off with the CSM forces advancing up to the middle of the table to support the two garrisoning units and terminators that had teleported into the front line at the start of the turn.
The phoenix bombers were all shot down on their first flight of the game. The forces of Chaos were much more successful with their bombing, zooming down the flank and inflicting heavy casualties on some Jetbikers without getting any flack and flying off the opposing board edge, taking an automatic BM rather than risking any flack. The chaos fighters were too disorganized to make it on in the first turn.
Their weren't really many major casualties, the Warlock took one hit and luckily didn't loose its holoshields to a critical on the first hit for the third game running. I tried to damage the Revenant with the Bane Lord and doom wheel but found them to be not that effective at taking out such targets, next turn the Bane lord will be blasting some infantry with his huge, one shot, barrage weapon.
Photo's and subsequent turns will follow as we get time to play them and I get time to post.
