Nice Steve, each time I see your Tau I am tempted to rush off to the Forge World site and start buying stuff. Its a real treat to look at what you do with paint.
Cheers Aaron

Looking very nice Steve, so what did the Eldar do to you? I would have thought that a shooting army like Tau would have done a good job on Eldar using range as your ally to hit them.
You always tempt me to get a Tau army when I look at these, as long as the infantry remain resin though, I will stand my ground on not getting it.
Cheers Aaron

I'll let Mark tell you about our game... Suffice to say, I made a few mistakes when setting my army up. We were also trialing a few new formations and I've since made some more competetive lists (and the fact that Mark knows how to play Eldar VERY well).
The greater good will be avenged!
I'm not fond of the Resin infantry either, that's why my Fire Warriors and Kroot are proxies.
Thanks again mate. I'll get these Iron Warrior photos up soon. Easter has slowed us down a bit but we're back in the game now.

Mmm, onyx's Tau... *drool* That's 1 fantastic army onyx - thank you for posting the blog link too! I'm a very jealous Shas'la... Nice work on finding the proxy figures, especially love the Remora drones. Just picked up a 40K scale Barracuda myself - haven't taken any photos of it since I glued it up, but I'm seriously impressed with the level of detail they get for the Epic scale! There's some evil voices in the back of my head at the moment, must voice them to my wife - usually makes them disappear. Any one got the link to ForgeWorld Epic Tau page?!? You mentioned a revised Tau list - where can I download a copy please? *The Greater Good will be avenged* +1

I had to wait for a big fat tax-refund before my Tau became a reality but I think it was money well spent.
As to our list (Mark and I have been throwing some ideas around whilst he put's together a special project), I'll put a copy up on my blog soon. I just want to run one more little change past Mark before putting it up. Bear in mind that the Tacomms guys will tear it apart but considering the win/loss ratio with their 5.1 list, there ideas have not lead to a viable army.
Tau simply don't start a game by sending Tetras or Stealthsuits on 1 way missions (as 5.1 seems to push players into doing). They use Sentry Towers and Remoras to light up the enemy and then BRING THE RAIN!
I just had a thought, you could probably make an entire Tau army using proxy models from DRM at a fraction of the price. I think many of their miniatures look close enough that they would be recognisable on the battlefield. Just a thought.

I've just received the Government's helpful hand-out...though I'm sure you'd see my name in the obituraries if I spent it at the altar of ForgeWorld! What a way to go... Suffice to say that it'll be something kept in the 'pipeline'... As we're adding the the clan soon - we've got a lot more pressing concerns at the moment. Still - never hurts to look...

Check out Chroma's Tau on Tac Coms. www.tacticalwargames.net/forums/index.cgi?act=ST;f=7;t=14765;st=45Image borrowed since Tac Coms is still up and down at the moment The DRM Metal Kraytonian Infantry look great as Tau if painted appropriately thus solving the 6mm fragile resin infantry problem. I bought the FW stuff and I am kicking myself seeing how good the proxies Chroma and Onyx have used look. Here is a teaser from the forethcoming battle report of Onyx and My game last weekend. This should give some answers to your question about what the Eldar did. Steve conveniently place Sky Scrapers all over the place for me to hide behind and coupled with my army being very fast the oportunities to shoot it to bits were limitted. Added to that the comments above the dice had a major influence on the results of this game (both of us set things up very carefully to capitolise on the lucky rolls when they come through, unfortunately the favour of the dice gods seemed to be rediculously unbalanced in this game). My army was using the latest test version of Saim Hann (v6.3), all the army started on the board as Onyx's objective placement didn't really leave much point coming though the Wraith Gate. I'll try and get a bit of a bat rep up over the next couple of days (in between getting another game in with the Saim Hann vs IG).
